Adi was extremely moved and immensely proud to accept this honour on behalf of all the victims and survivors of the world’s worst nuclear disaster that, even 31 years later, remains an unfolding tragedy. Adi also accepted the Honourary Fellowship on behalf of the countless volunteers who are the ‘foot soldiers’ and lifeblood of the charity. She gladly accepted the accolade in the name of all their hard work and dedication over the past three decades.
The distinguished members of the Royal College recognised Adi and Chernobyl Children International for the humanitarian endeavours and championing of the victims of the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear disaster. It is the highest honour that can be bestowed by the most prestigious paediatric institution in Ireland.
