Friends, many thanks for the long wait!
Aderonke's asylum case is back in the Court of Appeals and it doesn't appear to be heard so soon due to backlogs of cases. We'll of course update you as soon as we know more.
In the meantime, I would like to share with you awesome memories from the recent ManchesterPride! It was a lot of excitement and heart-feeling to be able to once again celebrate me without prejudice or fear of being judged.
The atmosphere was astonishing and warm. Nonetheless, it brought back some memories.Would I have been able to publicly identify as me in my country Nigeria? All of the trauma, pain I went through whilst in Nigeria and psychological damages I experienced.
Above all, it was a reflective time for me in thinking about what the minority of my community living in Nigeria could be going through. Constant persecution and torture.
Please, sign my petition to Repeal Nigeria's Anti-Gay Law.We shouldn't be complacent, there's more to be done in securing safety for myself and many many others.
Thanks.
