Dozens of fox and hundreds of mink on a fur farm in the Monteregie area (south of Montreal) are being kept in inhumane conditions while they await death. The SPCA, acting on a cruelty complaint, inspected the farm back in May of 2014 and was horrified by what members witnessed. Things were so bad that the government was asked to step in.
After several visits by government inspectors, the SPCA and Humane Society International went back on August 4, 2014 to find that nothing has changed. The government inspectors did nothing to improve the situation except to euthanize 4 fox too sick to survive any longer.
It is time to demand that inspectors from the Quebec Ministry of Forests, Fauna and Parks act and remove these animals from this horrible place.
