This morning Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan landed at Istanbul Ataturk airport and addressed the huge crowds of people gathered, saying: "these protests that are bordering on illegality must come to an end as of now."
Since the protests erupted last week against a plan to build over Gezi Park, tens of thousands of people have taken part in demonstrations around the country, opposing what they describe as Erdogan’s increasingly autocratic rule.
One blogger from Istanbul, Arzu Geybulla, is calling on the intenational community to support the Turkish people's demands for an end to police brutality, a free and unbiased media, and a democratic society.
