Keep the Humpback Whale Protected Under the Endangered Species Act

Dear Friends,

The sight of a humpback whale is truly breathtaking: they are known for their acrobatic, aerial displays out of the water, and making distinctive sounds and songs.

Just 40 years ago, these beautiful creatures were at risk of extinction. Thanks to the Endangered Species Act, crucial protections were put in place and the population has recovered.

But now, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is considering stripping the whales of their protection - take action and urge the NMFS to keep protecting humpback whales!

Humpback whales still need protection from climate change, entanglement with fishing gear, and underwater noise. Not to mention, they still need protection from commercial whaling and hunting- the very things that almost decimated the population before.

Please sign your name to keep humpback whales protected under the Endangered Species Act. We almost lost this species once; we cannot afford to make that same mistake twice.
