Results for the Care2 Petition "Urgent: Exotic Animals Could Be Euthanized"

Hetrick's animals have been siezed and are safe in the care of the State of Ohio. A top sanctuary awaits them when the legal wrangling is over in August 2015. Hopefully he will let go before then and allow the cats and bear to live with huge space and sunshine. Despite the smear campaign by Hetrick's camp the animals are all in great health having avoided a winter outside. Leo the very geriatric lion was put down last month by the ODA due to severe illness and old age. It was the first animal that the ODA has ever put down in their new facility. Kenny Hetrick is not a bad person but he threatened to do the unthinkable to innocent exotic animals and he flouted the law for years. In the United States exotic animals need to not be privately owned objects with no rights. The entire exotic private pet and breeder world in the US is a broken and deadly system. There are more o ptions and more battles to fight. Thank you for helping us begin to dismantle it.
