Dear Friends, 

When puppies are teething, they often gnaw on people's hands. It can hurt, sure, but they don't mean any harm by it. It certainly shouldn't inspire someone to beat them to death in retaliation.

At a Chinese outdoor marketplace, a young man recently offered to buy a puppy for his girlfriend. When he petted one of the puppies, though, it nipped one of his fingers playfully. Instead of telling the puppy "No," and moving his hand away, like most people do, the man reacted by slamming the puppy on the ground until it died -- along with four of its siblings. Part of the incident was captured on camera.

Despite the brutality of the story, authorities have not yet punished the perpetrator. Police say that because the old woman selling the puppies didn't file a formal compla int, they can't press charges against the man. But the photo and the testimony should be evidence enough to at least bring this murderer in for questioning.

We can't let cruelty like this go unpunished. Demand a conviction for the man who beat five puppies to death in broad daylight!
