When Mega-Farms Make Superbugs

Mega-farms across the European Union have become disease havens where animals live in their own contaminated waste. In these contagious environments, it's no wonder people are getting sick.

Dear Friends, 

Overcrowding animals on mega-farms isn’t just cruel — it’s unsafe, creating conditions where both animals and humans are vulnerable to dangerous bacterial infections. The most recent threats are the antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which have been found on pig farms in the Netherlands, Germany, and other areas. 

More dangerous outbreaks could mean the next fatal epidemic, but tighter regulations on mega-farms would change that. Sign the petition calling for safer living conditions on farms. 

Farm conditions are so deplorable that animals must be injected daily with antibiotics just to keep them alive. Excessive medication of farm animals is what gave rise to the resistant superbug, and then it was just a matter of jumping from animals to humans, and people started getting infected, too.

Poor hygiene on mega-farms is now threatening our own health. Please write to the European Union in support of giving animals humane living conditions — for their sake and for ours.
